Two Cuckoo's Flew into The Hunter's Rest

Two Cuckoos Flew into The Hunter's Rest.....Or so they say....also, according to one Stephanie Dosen, trees dont necessarily agree with you, they just dont say anything. This is my philosophy for the day, because it's sunny and I don't know what to say. Okay okay, we got some ideas for art work back yesterday and we're pretty damn stoked with them....Many thanks Russell. Here's a sneaky preview of the happenings:

Personally loving the young Cassius Clay. Oh here are our forthcoming confirmed shows....more more more to come.
  • Shutes & Friends @ Wight Rock May 27th
  • Isle of Wight Festival 10th June
  • 'Wear that Shirt' @ The Old Blue Last, Shoreditch 23rd June
  • Bestival 12th September
  • White Trash, Berlin 2nd October

Ok great. that's all for today, it's bloody lovely out there. One more thing....from Dosen again, 'If it weren't for stairs, I bet you'd wonder how to get upstairs'.........check her out, she's a genius.

Black Sheep, Vile Bus drivers and being attacked by gurning chavs

This entry may have negative connotations so here are some nice pictures first. A bit of positive light.....A tale from the concrete jungle....

Ok, last friday started well....I Handed in my final assignments, avoided rain and went for an afternoon pint. Great. Our show at the Black sheep that evening also went well (thankyou dancers). We hung around for a while afterwards and enjoyed a few bottles of wine and smoked far too many rollies (time to quit) with some downright lovely people. Then came the dilemma of getting home, back to the wilderness.....After much deliberation we made the disasterous decision to board a Southern Vectis bus, or, at this time in the morning, the bitterly spangled, delirous and twisted 'chav-mobile'. Now, I don't actually know the definition of the word 'chav' and every 'outsider' or normal person seems to have their own take on the rather unfortunate social phenominum, but the past few years of distant observation, and vague intrigue at this strange species, has given me enough perspective to create a list of key fundmentals, my own percieved chav criteria. They are as follows: (Apologies if I cause any offence) Please note: 'Chav', definitely does not refer to a football fan in any capacity, I consider myself a football fan, I do not consider myself a chav. Also, 'Umbrella' By Rhianna is a brilliant pop song. The use of the word Chav is relatively tongue in cheek....

  1. Rude/obnoxious/oblivious to any person(s) not in their immediate 'pack' (obvious)
  2. Noisy, using abrasive and offensive language regardless of surroundings or situation
  3. Often the proud owner of at least one shit/meaningless tattoo.
  4. Well practiced in the art of violent assault with little or no provocation.
  5. A 'fan' of Rhianna after the hit single 'umbrella' provided the perfect, no frills, metaphorical summing up of their relationships past, present and future.
  6. Hunt in packs. Harmless and timid when functioning as a singular organism.

So anyway, back to the bus journey. First of all the driver made me pay full fare when he discovered my student union card had passed its expiry date by one whole day! Yeah, pissed off. Nah not really. We hit the top deck and got a seat for what we thought would be a pretty un-eventful journey home. The first half of the journey was great and I was joined by a rather lovely lady named Kylie....It was after this girl got off the bus that everything went from light to dark. At the next stop we were joined on the top deck by a Pack of angry, frustrated, drooling, gurning chavs. By this point my brother had joined me at the fr ont of the bus and we were in fact cornered, or 'fronted'. In an attempt to keep things cool, my brother recited one of the chavs names having known him from school.....BIG mistake....'How the fuck do you know my name?!!' was the immediate response, he was clearly rialled, jittery and delirious, almost howling with frustration that a human being had the outright audacity to say hello. A verbal exchange ensued for a few minutes, gradually escalating in intensity and signalling the inevitabal transition of verbal agrresiion into physical. Eventually the chav in question swang for my brother, at which point I stepped in, managing to sway the first punch. Unfortunately, in a cloud of rage and confusion a fellow member of his pack was right behind and I was first in line for a wild headbutt right between the eyes. We were now well and truely 'fronted', five against one and forced to fight our way out from the barrage of flayling limbs, we were joined by my brothers friends and eventually managed to control the wild animals just enough to make our way off the bus but we were in alot worse state that when we boarded the bus. Black eyes all round and some very swolen noses. The Nature of the gang is very unpredictable and I hope the individuals we encountered find it within themselves to reflect on the damage they could potentially have caused and will, inevitably cause if they carry behaving in this way.

prior to this incident it was a great night, A very un band related blog but I felt compelled.
